For the past five years at least, the BMTT conference keynote speakers have been very dynamic and at the top of their games in terms of subject matter knowledge and knowledge of their audiences. In addition, many of the workshop presenters could have also been keynote speakers.

Although funding has not been what it used to be, we still managed to pull off a two day format with Friday being designated for adolescent and young adult males and Saturday being designated for the general public.

The only criticism that I have is the content has been limited in scope over the last two years. We should be able to easily remedy that by getting others involved early such as college and university professors, k-12 organizations, political organizations, advocacy groups, business organizations, etc.

Last note, the BMTT Conference is a forum for the exchange of information and ideas and is not necessarily a forum that facilitates action. I mention this because this has been a criticism by some. It is my belief that action is best facilitated by well-structured, competent, well-financed organizations that operate from a knowledge and theory standpoint rather than a follow the money standpoint.

We are a little ways off from doing what we really want to do: help to create resourceful, critical (i.e., analytical, reflective, and evaluative), INTERDEPENDENT, highly motivated, creative, determined organizations (i.e., meaning more than one person or two persons) that are able to EMPLOY people for the direct purpose of solving our common ills without compromise.

I truly enjoyed those of you that participated in this year's conference and am very appreciative of those that supported the conference.
